LH Agency Signs Cooperation in Managing Free Household Electronic Waste

Jakarta LH Agency Head, Asep Kuswanto said Jakarta is a pioneer in specific waste management.
"Management of specific waste and its derivatives, perhaps only Jakarta has started it. In other areas, there is no regulation. Hopefully, this step can be imitated by other regions in Indonesia," he expressed, Thursday (7/13).
Here's How to Get E-waste Pick-Up ServicesHe revealed that the Jakarta Provincial Government has been serious in dealing with specific waste problems for a long time, for example providing convenience to Jakartans who will dispose of specific waste including electronic waste.
"Since 2017, the LH Agency has provided a free direct pick-up service for electronic waste in the community," he expressed.
On that occasion, Waste Management and Hazardous, and Toxic Materials (PSLB3) Division Head, Yusiono A Supalal explained that electronic waste generation in Jakarta in 2021 would reach 75.63 tons per day. It is predicted that there will be an increase of 20 percent to 90.23 tons per day in 2045.
"Hence, this electronic waste must be managed properly," he said.
To manage e-waste properly, PT CAR trusts PT CAR to manage e-waste free of charge as it has complete permits and has experience in managing e-waste in an environmentally friendly manner.
Meanwhile, the scope of this Collective Agreement and Cooperation Agreement includes collection of electronic waste, transportation of electronic waste, utilization of electronic waste, socialization and education, as well as monitoring and evaluation.
PT CAR President Director, Irwan appreciated the LH Agency for their trust in managing Jakarta residents' electronic waste free of charge.
"We have experience in this field and guarantee that we have complete permits, sophisticated facilities, and are environmentally friendly," he stated.
